Silica Ramming Mass is acidic in nature and used for the steel, carbon steel, cast iron, ductile iron and copper melting furnaces. It is resistant to thermal shock, corrosion, erosion, and has excellent mechanical strength.

Non Premix Silica Ramming mass is normally consumed in overseas companies to avoid contamination by water. Boric acid will be mixed on-site. It is re-heated to 100 deg before mixing boric acid. In India, the majority of people use pre-mixed silica ramming mass.
